What we believe
we are a church that shares a living,
daring confidence in God's grace.
For us as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, this faith comes through the good news of Jesus Christ and gives us the freedom and the courage to wonder, discover, and boldly participate in what God is up to in the world. Liberated by our faith, we embrace the whole person—questions, complexities and all.
As members of the ELCA, we believe that we are freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. With our hands, we do God's work of restoring and reconciling communities in Jesus Christ's name throughout the world.
Word and Sacrament
At the heart of our lives as followers of Christ are the Word and Sacraments. The Word incarnate is Jesus Christ. The Word in written form is the Holy Bible. We worship Christ, crucified and risen. Christ is revealed in Scripture and in the world as the Spirit works.
Holy Baptism
Holy Baptism is the sacrament of initiation.
Through water and Word we are made children of God and become part of the body of Christ. We receive forgiveness and new life as we die and rise with Christ.
HOLY COMMUNION
In Holy Communion we are fed with the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. The 'real presence' of Christ is made known 'in, with and under' in this salvation giving meal. All are invited to come to the table to receive forgiveness and new life which Christ alone can bestow.
