April's Message from Pastor Jon O. Gallatin

Many of us are still recovering from the blizzard of 23.  I heard Door County received anywhere from 30 to 36 inches of snow.  To say the least our lives were thrown out of balance for a few days. I heard some people were able to get out of their house on Tuesday, I consider them the lucky ones as I could not get out of the garage until Thursday.  I give a big thank you to all the people who were out clearing the snow and helping people get back on their feet.

I heard many stories of people sharing their love for their neighbor by checking in on them and even helping to shovel or plow them out.  In the type of event we just went through we see the importance of being a neighbor, the importance being available to help someone in need.  As disciples of Jesus, we are called to walk with others who could use some help.  We have all been given gifts to use for others, and this past week probably put those gifts to the test.  God has called us to live in community with each other, and the community God has called us to be a part of is called to look after each other so the love of God can shine.

In Christ,

Pastor Jon Gallatin
